

Woman 'serious' after garden crash
A YOUNG woman is said to be in a ‘serious but stable’ condition after a crash at an accident blackspot.
Her green Ford Focus car left the B7020 Annan to Lochmaben road, south of Dalton, landing on its side in the front garden of a bungalow.
The 20-year-old from Annan was understood to be travelling north when the accident happened about 12.20 pm on Tuesday.
She was trapped in the wreckage and had to be freed by fire-fighters from Annan and Dumfries who used hydrolic lifting equipment.
The driver was taken initially by ambulance to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary and later transferred to the Western General Hospital in Edinburgh.
Near-by residents helped at the scene until the arrival of the emergency services to the garden at Hawklands, Isle of Dalton.
Members of the family in the house were alerted by the noise of the crash.
Police have appealed for witnesses to the accident to contact police on 0845 600 5701.
