Sherki's Nepal mission

A MOFFAT teenager’s dream to overhaul her former primary school in Nepal will soon be realised.

Sherki Sherpa has jetted off to Nepal to help reconstruct her old school in Kharikhola and teach English to the pupils there.

Along with her family she has lived in Moffat for a number of years but always hoped to return to her hometown to improve peoples’ opportunities.

She has been working hard in recent months to raise money for the six-month trip and construction works.

The trip could also be made into a documentary as Sherki hopes to film her expedition, the reconstruction of the school and the English classes.
